Artistic Director: Tracy Sunderland

Artistic Director: Tracy Sunderland

Tracy Sunderland

Tracy wants to make art that crashes through boundaries. As a professional artist working in both theater and film, she considers herself a bit of mashup: equal parts actor-writer-director-teacher-learner. Her career spans twenty years of making with the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Boise Contemporary Theater, and now Migration Theory. She trains with SITI Company and uses this training in her classes and as a means for generating new works. In film, her feature script Tailor received hefty funding from the Greek Film council and is slated to shoot in 2017.  She received the 2015 Idaho Commission on the Arts Fellowship Award in filmmaking and the 2015 Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award at Boise State.  She holds an MA in Filmmaking from The London Film School, an MFA in Acting/ Theatre from The University of Texas at Austin, and a BA from Duke University. She is an Associate Artist at Boise Contemporary Theater and teaches at Boise State University, the College of Idaho and The Cabin literary center.
